Elmhurst resident Ben Dooley is a professional actor and certified life coach who has been training actors for over 10 years.GreenMan audiences will remember Ben as ‘Gogo’ in their production of “Waiting for Godot.”
Ben has also conducted team-building programs for actors and crew during recent GreenMan Theatre productions.
He has taught at Act One Studios in Chicago and shares a wealth of practical experiences about the unique challenges actors face and how not only to survive, but achieve success.
Ben explains: "We forget that doing a play is just that — ‘Play.’ We do this because it’s fun and exciting and stimulating. And yet, there’re always problems that arise that drag the show down. What if there was a way to get all that stuff out of the way while streamlining the rehearsal process so that each and every actor can do what they love to do…Act.”
Other programs include seminars in auditioning skills, acting workshops for high school and middle school, storytelling, and enhancing presentation skills using theatre games.
Programs are open to people at all levels.
