Homeless in Elmhurst? Local Theatre Seeks Storage Space.Elmhurst, IL -- GreenMan Theatre Troupe Loses Storage Facilities.
GreenMan Theatre Troupe has been entertaining Elmhurst audiences since their first production in 2004. They've had big audiences for many of their shows like "The Odd Couple" and "Nevermore," and they delight sold-out houses yearly with Murder Mystery dinner shows at Angelo's Ristorante. But this year, GreenMan is facing a big challenge: they will be losing the facilities they've counted on for storage of those wonderful sets, and facing the daunting challenge of finding a new facility to store sets, and and other items.
For the past few years, GreenMan has benefited from the generosity of Doug Peterson, owner of Chicago Records Management, who graciously donated unused warehouse space. GreenMan has used this facility for building sets and rehearsing shows, as well as storage space.

Unfortunately, the lease on his warehouse is coming to its conclusion at the end of the summer, and GreenMan must find an alternate location to store all of the sets, props, lights, and costumes. GreenMan's Artistic Director, David Soria, comments that this will be a big challenge: "GreenMan has really grown over the past couple of years. We've been fortunate to have a wonderful facility to be able to build and store sets for the shows and to rehearse. We're hoping that we can find space nearby that will allow us to keep all the items we've acquired and built for the shows. We're hoping to find a 'hero' for the arts in Elmhurst."
