Auditions for Macbeth and Fall Storytelling Class!





GreenMan Theatre Troupe will be holding auditions for William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy,

"Macbeth"

Auditions will be held on Sunday August 19 at 1 PM, Monday August 20 at 7 PM and Tuesday August 21 at 7 PM. Auditions will be held in Asbury Hall at First United Methodist Church at 232 S. York in Elmhurst.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors will also be expected to read a Shakespearean monologue. They may prepare a dramatic monologue, two minutes or less, from any Shakespearean play. For those who do not have a prepared monologue, they will be given one of the following monologues from "MacBeth" to read.

Macbeth, Act 1, sc. 7: "If it were done..."
Macbeth, Act 2, sc. 1: "Is this a dagger..."
Lady Macbeth, Act 1, sc. 5: either "They met me..." or "The raven himself..."
Porter, act 2, sc. 3: "Here's a knocking indeed."

Appointments are not required to audition. There is no pay.

GreenMan Theatre's Artistic Director David Soria is directing the production. Dates of the production are the weekends between October 19-November 4, 2012.

There will be a need for a minimum of 16 actors, and total may increase depending on amount of doubling. Some roles will require doubling. Depending on audition turnout, genders of certain roles in ensemble may be altered. For youth roles, junior high age children or older would be most suitable.
