GreenMan Announces Cast of "Dracula"

GreenMan Theatre Troupe announces the cast for
"Dracula", Steven Dietz's adaptation of the novel by Bram Stoker.

Appearing in the production as
Dracula is Carl Zeitler of Glen Ellyn.

Mina and Lucy, two women under Dracula's influence, are played by Mary Czerwinski of Chicago and Christina Fleetwood of Downers Grove.

Seward, the head of a lunatic asylum, and Renfield, a madman at Seward's asylum, are played by Wally Roche of Chicago and Jack Guasta of Glendale Heights.

Harker, a solicitor, is played by Adam Krause of Hanover Park and Van Helsing, a professor, is played by Thom Reed of Algonquin.

Also appearing as attendants at the asylum are Matthew Hestoian of Oakbrook, and Michael O'Ryan and Klaus Ruppenstein of Elmhurst.

Lauren Anders of Villa Park plays a servant at the asylum and Cynthia Rosati of Elmhurst appears as a Nun at the sanitarium.  Valerie Meachum Kessler of Elgin rounds out the cast.

Artistic Director and Westmont resident David Soria, who recently directed GreenMan's productions of "The Underpants" and "The Importance Of Being Earnest" will direct the show.

Behind the scenes, Jim Ocasek of Elmhurst will serve as the Technical Director. Jim and R. J. Ogren of Elmhurst will design the set and lights and Benjamin Vargas of Addison will design the costumes.

The production opens October 17 and runs for three weekends through November 2 at the United Methodist Church, 232 S. York Rd. in Elmhurst.

The play is an exciting, dramatic, fast moving evening of theatre. Dietz remains more faithful to the original novel than many adapters, while still streamlining the action and compressing several of the novel's characters and key actions. Dietz writes that the characters - and by extension, the audience - must " take the power and terror of
Dracula seriously."

Performances of "Dracula" are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from October 17 through November 2 at the United Methodist Church, 232 S. York Rd., Elmhurst, just south of downtown Elmhurst. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. with a special time of 9 p.m. on Halloween.  Sunday performances are at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 and discounts are available for students and seniors. Free parking is available.
