"How the West Was Done In" takes place on a Hollywood movie studio in the 1960's as a film crew rehearses a cast for the studio's latest western. An eclectic cast of characters emerge as actors become their movie counterparts. The play sends up many classic western movies as well as the Hollywood system itself. One of the characters ends up dead, and everyone else is a suspect. Actors interact with audience members as they try to see if they can decide who guilty party is.
