GreenMan To Hold Auditions For,
SOLDIER, COME HOME

GreenMan will be holding auditions for "Soldier, Come Home" by Frank Wicks on Sunday, January 16th at 3 PM and Monday, Jan. 17th at 7 PM.


"Soldier, Come Home" opens April 14th, 2011 and runs till April 17th in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War in conjunction with the Elmhurst Public Library.

"Soldier, Come Home" is a dramatization of the Civil War letters of Mary Luke Pringle, her husband, Philip W. Pringle, family members and friends, from 1859 to 1865, adapted for the stage by Frank Wicks, great-grandson of Philip and Mary Pringle.

Phil Hendricks will direct the production.

The play is written in reader's theater format and is performed by a cast of 5 playing the following parts:

Mary Luke Pringle, in her mid-twenties

While the ages of the characters has been listed, we would like to encourage all who would like to audition, to audition, even if you don't match the ages above.

The letters are from western Pennsylvania and from several major Civil War battle sites, including Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, the siege of Petersburg, and Appomattox.

Auditions consist of cold readings from the script.

Appointments are not required to audition.

Rehearsals will be scheduled based on cast availability.

There are additional volunteer positions available working behind the scenes assisting the production.
